Guzz Genser
Guzz transforms into a Warrior on a warpath as soon as his drumsticks hit the drums.
Then he becomes The Animal he really is and captures his preys.
As you may know, Guzz doesn't need advertisement or introduction or even a website for his FanPeeps in Music World.
His popularity extends beyond that. Just for kicks Google his name (Giuzz/Gus Genser) and you are on the right track to find everything you want to know about THE DRUMMER.
There are video-clips, music news, news of his career on YouTube, MySpace and other Music websites.
Eventually we will create THE DRUMMER's website.
But on the other hand if you know Guzz you know that he is very busy and doesn't take the computer too seriously.
For this reason and at this moment a FanPage will have to do. Guzz' FanPage is not to gain more popularity but it is to show gratitude to his fans and friends by keeping them informed of his whereaboouts.
We hope that the FanPage will delight you and we will keep you posted as much as we, The Admins or Guzz are able.
Feel free to post Fotos, Video-clips, news and comments but always decent and positive.
In the meantime The Admins will carry on with their tune and Guzz THE DRUMMER will keep on drumming.

When Guzz was merely 3 yrs old he made the kitchen floor his domain.
He'd make a drum formation of pots, pans and cans and with wooden spoons in his small hands,
he beat the crap out of these objects. From then on there was no holding him back and a drummer was born.
Guzz' genre of music is mostly Rock & Roll and Hard Rock
but like any other musician he enjoys playing other types of music as well.
People that influenced him in his drumming career are:
The Drummer of San Fernando Boys (Aruba), Ito Stamper(Aruba), Peter Criss, Ian Pace,
Neal Peart, Dennis St John (Drummer for Neil Diamond), Buddy Rich, Ringo Starr, Vinnie Cualutto, Larry Bright,
Steve Smith, Steve Gadd, Keith Knudsen (Doobie Bro's), Liberty De Vito, Stewart Copeland, Richard Holsmond.

PHASE I is the period in which the members of the Band MAD DOG I jammed together but never performed as a group. The love of music had the group practicing in the Esso Club Theatre during the afternoon and since the doors were always wide open, people strolled inside and took a seat to listen and the band had an audience.
MAD DOG I: Gigi Hirschveld (bs gtr); Paul Reyes (rtm gtr & vocals); Donny Bislip (ld gtr); Guzz (drums & vocals). The band dissolved when Gigi died in a car accident and Guzz escaped death miraculously, Paul left for Holland and Guzz' family moved to Oranjestad. In O'Stad Guzz' music career took off.
REVELATION: Chicken (ld gtr); Benchie (bs gtr); Daniel (kybrd); Toton (ld vocal); Guzz (drums & vocals).
MAD DOG was ressurected when Paul returned and Guzz wanted a new challenge and in memory of Gigi they kept the name and added a "II".
MAD DOG II: Paul Reyes (rtm gtr & vocals); Michael Kort (ld gtr); Roland Kort (bs gtr & vocals); Guzz (drums & vocals). The group held a sold out concert at the Esso Club and after the concert Reno Steba, a well know Jazz musician, approached Guzz to form a group but Guzz put Reno's offer on the back burner, he had other plans for the moment.
DEPARTURE: Albert Croes (kybrd & vocals); Gino Pollack (bs gtr); Michael Kort (gtr & vocals); Guzz (drums & vocals). The group held a concert to a sold out crowd in the Wilhelmina Stadium. The band also recorded "Traces" & "Lonely Man" that ended up as a top-hitter. Gus was the singer on both songs.
TOO MUCH: Anthony Isidora (ld gtr); Carl Ford (kybrd & vocals); George (bs gtr & vocals); Gregory Hobson; (ld vocals & flute); Guzz (drums & vocals).
SOUND & HARMONY: Da Vega (ld gtr & vocals); Reno Steba ( bs gtr
& vocals); Carl Ford (kybrd); Guzz ( drums & vocals).
GENESIS II: Nacio Richardson (bs gtr & vocals); Gregory Hobson ( ld vocals & flute); Tin-Tin (perc); Ike Jessurun (kybrd & vocals); Johnny Schaarbai ((kybrd); Guzz (drums & vocals).
Then Guzz accepted Reno's offer under one condition that they write all their songs.
AVALANCHE I: Reno Steba (bs gtr & vocals); Michael Kort (ld gtr); Guzz (drums & vocals).
Stevie Grandmaison and his band had a 6 wks gig in a high rise hotel and Reno & Guzz joined them in jam sessions. When one of the band members was fired, Guzz was hired to replace him. Stevie's contract was over after six weeks and when they left they took Guzz with them as their new drummer.
STEVIE & THE HOTHEADS (USA): Stevie Grandmaison (gtr, harp, kybrd, ld vocals); Vic The Stick (ld gtr & vocals); BBQ Bob (sax & vocals); Hollywood Dave (bs gtr & vocals); Billys Green (percus & vocals); Guzz The Gasher (drums & vocals).
Guzz returned to Aruba.
ARUBA ALL STARS: Pepe Gonzalez (rtm & ld gtr); Reno Steba (bs gtr & vocals); Johnny Scharbaai (kybrd); Lisa Coppersmith (sax); Guzz (drums & vocals).
ROCK FUSION PROJECT: Ivan Jansen (ld gtr); Albi Navas (Soprano, tenor sax, flute and perc); Hildeward Croes (kybrd & piano); Nidia Emerencia (kybrd); Reno Steba (bs gtr vocals); Guzz (drums & ld vocals); Jani Croes (stage & decor designer).
Then came the Jazz period.
ADAGGIO TRIO: Pepe Gonzalez (ld gtr & ld vocals); Reno Steba (bs gtr); Guzz (drums & vocals).
Reno left for Holland.
WATERFRONT TRIO: Pepe Gonzales (gtr & vocals); Patrick Surinam (bs gtr); Guzz (drums & vocals).
BACKSTREET BAND: Nacio Richardson (bs gtr); Sterling (ld gtr); Johnny Schaarbai (kybrd); Guzz (drums & vocals).
SURVIVAL: Ami Henriquez (bs gtr & ld vocals); Hector Ruiz (gtr & ld vocals); Cliff Wong (ld gtr); Ito Stamper (ld vocals, tambourine & congas); Guzz (drums & vocals).
Guzz left for Holland (1986).
D.I. FORMATION: Lee Towers, Imca Marina, Connie Vink, Oscar Harris, Arrie Ribbens, Nico Haak, Reno Steba, Guzz
.
LOCOMOTION, ALL SORTS, DECOY were all in 1987 and Guzz was trying to survive in the music world.
FOUR ROSES (big break): Jan Bijstra (ld vocals); Jaap Castricum (ld gtr & vocals); Fred Hillebrand (bs gtr); Guzz (drums). Even though Guzz had a good voice, he didn't mention to the band that he could sing back-up, he wanted to concentrate fully on drumming.
LORD OF LIGHTENING & AVALANCHCE II were in 1n 1988. But AVALANCHE II never hit it off because the band members wanted to play jazz and not R & R. Guzz liked Jazz but not as his main music genre.
LOS ALEGRES: Doy Salsbach; Guzz(drums & vocals).
INSULINDE CATS: Anneriek Van Dorst (ld vocals); Rory Cambel (kybrd); Gerry (one string bass); Guzz (drums).
THE AUGUST GENSER PROJECT (1987-1989); Guzz' musical soul was searching while he was free-lancing and trying to get his bearings.

Back in Holland.
